The past two months we have done a lot of fun stuff. Maybe one day I'll get around to posting it.
In the mean time here is a cute idea. It is a felt playhouse that you put over a table. It is amazing!

Halloween
The kids had a fun time trick-or-treating yesterday at Dad's work. Will loves Toy Story and was so excited to be Buzz Lightyear. Lincoln was a cute little dog. He always had to have a piece of candy in each hand. Since they got more candy than they needed yesterday and will probably eat too much tonight I wanted to make our meals a little more healthy today. I decided to make each meal with something orange in it. So this our Halloween menu:
Breakfast: Peanut Butter Sweet Potato Oatmeal
Make oatmeal with milk add some yams that are cooked and mashed up, brown sugar, a little peanut butter, some nutmeg, vanilla, and cinnamon. If you like garnish with almonds, craisins, and raisins.
Lunch: Mac & Cheese made with butternut squash puree
Dinner: Pumpkin Pancakes with smoothies
2 c. flour (I substitute some white flour with some whole wheat flour, wheat germ, and ground flax)
3 T. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. nutmeg
2 eggs
2 c. plain low or nonfat yogurt
1/2 c. canned pumpkin
4 T. butter, melted (I use applesauce instead)
Mix all the dry ingredients. In another bowl beat the eggs for 30 seconds. Add yogurt, pumpkin, and butter. Stir in dry ingredients and beat until combined. Cook about 2 minutes per side. Serve with honey or maple syrup.
For the smoothies I put a carrot, orange juice, banana, yogurt, milk, ice, strawberries, mangos, blueberries, and any other fruit I have in the blender. Sometimes I add an avocado.
I hope everyone has a fun Halloween!

Sunflowers and First Day of School

This is our sunflowers 3 months ago.
Look at them now! They are so beautiful! I can't believe how fast and easy they grew.

Will's first day of school was Monday. He loves Kindergarten! He gets so excited. His teacher is great. He goes in the afternoon and it is working out great. It gives him something to look forward to every day.

Swan Family Reunion
July
4th of July Cherry Days Parade and more

Why do kids like to do this???

One Sunday afternoon we went to visit the Ogden Temple grounds. First thing when we got there I knew we were going to have a hard time keeping Will out of the water. I was right. Glenn almost had to go in after him!

Some summer fun-
One day we went to Discovery Gateway. Will loved the climbing wall. He was really good at it.
Also, we had a neighborhood bike parade.

Pioneer Day Parade in Bountiful. It was sooo HOT! We had to leave early.

And last, but not least- Will's birthday! We've decided to only have a friends birthday party every other year. So this year we just invited some family and had cupcakes in the front yard. It was a lot of fun.
