"Every unselfish act of kindness and service increases your spirituality. God would use you to bless others. Your continued spiritual growth and eternal progress are very much wrapped up in your relationships--in how you treat others. Do you indeed love others and become a blessing in their lives? Isn't the measure of the level of your conversion how you treat others? The person who does only those things in the Church that concern himself alone will never reach the goal of perfection. Service to others is what the gospel and exalted life are all about."
-Elder Whetten (Ensign, May 2005)
One of my favorite blogs to read is Katherine Marie Photography. She has inspired me to look for different ways to serve. Read about it here.

What's new, what's old
2010 was a year for reading. I read more books last year than I have probably read in my whole life. I have always like books, I guess I just figured I didn't have enough time. But once I started I was hooked. I can't go to bed without reading. I read about 20 books in 2010. I started with Jane Eyre, which I loved. Some of my favorites from 2010 were: These Is My Words and The Hunger Games. I just finished reading The Book Thief and right now I am reading Listening for Lions.
Will's reading has improved a ton lately. His teacher is great at encouraging him. He is now reading little chapter books!
Just after Christmas Lincoln turned 3! He is so cute and funny and loves to talk to people.
Today my grandparents celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary! Isn't that amazing! They are some of the greatest people I know. They live pretty close to me so I try to visit them as often as possible. A few months ago I found this in a notebook of my grandmas: "Grandma's Creed: Never fail to 'act' like you have self confidence whether you have any or not. Never stifle the urge to be silly! Never (ever) do housework when there are exciting and fun things to do outside. More is better than less (in decorating a home and clothes)." This is a picture I took of them a few months ago.
